Man, those sweet bagels are just so scrumptious, it's hard to just stop at one. I remember when I used to eat about 5 whole ones and still want more. I loved how ignorant I was way back when... I had no idea what processed flour, sugar and trans fat did to my health, I just knew these luscious yeasty sugar-bombs needed to be IN my mouth ASAP!
Sadly, I can NO LONGER eat those artery cloggers thanks to intolerances/allergies to wheat, dairy, gluten, sugar, soy, nuts and some fruits... Bye bye doughnuts and all the rest of the sweet treats of the world....
THAT WAS, until... Sarah Grace of http://freshfitandhealthy.com created... A DOUGHNUT RECIPE especially for me! SAY WHAT?!?!?! What on earth could be in these things, considering it seems as if I cannot eat a damn thing?!?!
Here's what up:
½ cup Protein Powder of choice (I used Sunwarrior)
¼ cup Coconut Flour
¼ cup Ground Flaxseed + ½ cup Warm Water
½ cup Pumpkin Puree
1 teaspoon Psyllium Husk
¼ cup Coconut Oil
¼ cup Water
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 tablespoon Cinnamon
½ teaspoon Sea Salt
2 tablespoons Stevia
1.5 teaspoons Baking Powder
½ teaspoon Baking Soda
Don't judge a book by its character! Try this recipe out and see for yourself. You might just decide to ditch Dunkin' Donuts... Krispy Kreme and the like!!!
